Welcome to The Slice! Your safety is our top priority. Please read and follow our safety guidelines to ensure a fun and secure experience for everyone.

Axe Throwing General Guidelines

1. Age Requirement:
- We do not have a minimum age, it is at parent's discretion. We find most 10 year old's are strong enough to throw our smaller hatchets but may struggle with our main house axes, which weigh 3 lbs and need to be thrown from a 12-foot throw line.

-Minors under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. 16+ can throw without supervision but must be added to an adult's waiver that has been filled out and signed by the ADULT. Click here to sign our digital waiver.

2. Waiver and Registration:
- All participants must complete a digital waiver form before entering the throwing area that lasts one year from signing date.
- Parents or guardians must sign waivers for minors.

3. Clothing and Footwear:
- Closed-toe shoes are required for all participants.
- Wear comfortable clothing that allows for free movement. Avoid loose or dangling clothing and accessories.

4. Food & Beverage:

- Given the nature of axe, knife & spike throwing, we are an unlicensed facility & no alcohol is sold on premises.

- Guests are welcome to come by after a meal or a few drinks elsewhere. If its clear you’ve had a bit too much to drink, you will be asked to sit out for safety reasons.

- Guests who book a private facility rental can apply for their own SLGA Special Occasion Permit & supply their own alcohol at their own risk, while abiding by SLGA's mandates. Liability for your group is on the permit holder and not The Slice.

Safety Instructions

4. Instructor Guidance:
- First-time throwers must attend a 5-10 minute safety briefing & throwing demonstration with a trained instructor.
- Follow all instructions and guidelines provided by the staff at all times, no exceptions.

5. Throwing Area Protocol:
- Only one person is allowed in the throwing lane at a time.
- Always stand behind the designated area until it’s your turn.
- Ensure the target area is clear before throwing.

- No food or drink on the throwing floor.

6. Throwing Technique:
- Use the approved throwing technique demonstrated by the instructor.

- Absolutely no trick shot attempts. Underhand is permitted if taught by an instructor.
- Never throw an axe when distracted or not fully focused.

7. Axe Handling:
- Always handle axes with care and respect.
- Do not touch the sharp edges of the axe.

- Do not pass an axe to someone; please return all throwing tools to the bin located at your lane. The next thrower will choose their throwing tool from said bin.

Facility Rules

8. Behavior:
- There is zero tolerance for running, horseplay, or any disruptive behavior in the facility.
- Participants who appear too intoxicated or under the influence of substances will be asked to sit out for safety reasons.

9. Supervision:
- Parents or guardians are liable for and must supervise minors at all times.
- Follow all posted signs and staff instructions.

10. Emergencies:

- First-aid kits & small bandages are available on-site and are located at reception.
- Report any accidents or injuries to staff immediately.
- Follow staff directions in case of emergency.

By adhering to these safety guidelines, we can ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation, and have fun at The Slice!
